About Orthoform Sheets
We stay out in front of the competition
Airlite supports orthoform® in our commitment to consistently deliver high-quality products to the orthotics and prosthetics industry.
We have been processing plastics for over 65 years! Our Company was founded west of Nazareth as H & R Plastics in 1946. It all started with one profile extruder, and initial jobs included battery components, hula hoops, and towel bars. In 1956, sheet extrusion was introduced with a focus on polyethylene. Early jobs included loose-leaf binders, file folders, and cap lining material.
Throughout the years our company was sold and names have changed, but our core competency in thin gauge sheet extrusion never wavered. We continued to produce thin gauge polyethylene products and expanded that range to cover the family of olefin thermoplastics including- LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, and polypropylenes.
The orthotic sheet was a market we were supplied on a custom basis. In 2004 we made a commitment to better understand that market and grow it as a niche product area. In 2005, the orthoform® trademark was filed. We continue to supply the market and align with key industry OEM’s to develop and test new materials for improving our product offering. Equipment, such as the “pizza oven”, was also brought in to test our sheet mirroring our customer’s process.
Our specialty has always been thin gauge extrusion and as years passed, we continued to excel. Quality control was always part of our standard operating procedures. In 2001 we obtained ISO Certification of our Quality System and recently re-certified to the ISO 9001:2008 Standard.
In April 2012, Airlite Plastics Co. acquired the company including the orthoform® product line. Airlite is a privately held company located in Omaha, Nebraska for more than 50 years. Product lines include containers and lids for food packaging, drink cups, and lids, as well as polystyrene coolers, insulated concrete form (ICF) building blocks, and other custom plastic products.
Airlite supports orthoform® in our commitment to consistently deliver high-quality products to the orthotics and prosthetics industry. We continue to work hard to remain a leader in the industry and be the preferred manufacturer of the orthotic sheet.
